Many passengers arrived this morning. I had to prepare the dive deck for massive passengers. While I was still busy on the deck, the daytrip boat requested me to work for them. There were 7 divers wanted a guided tour. I prepared myself in a hurry while the 7 divers had been waiting for me in their diving gear.
When I rushed to the daytrip boat, I was surprised to see the divers. I remembered 3 of the divers because they had been on the liveaboard ship last week. They were a couple with a 15-year-old daughter. Last time the daughter had freaked out and had not dared to jump in the water.
To play safe, I had the divers descending along a rope. As I expected, the daughter freaked out again. I hold her wrist, maintained eye contact, and dragged her down along the rope. Finally, I successfully calmed her down.
Backed to the liveaboard ship, I thought I had finished my last dive. The shop had asked me to stay on an extra day for two students, but another instructor stayed instead of me. The students spoke Chinese, and I remembered I had seen one of them before. So, I talked to them to figure out their course progress.
Surprisingly, I had taught one of the students two months ago. Another surprise was that they were on different progress. The student I had taught just needed one more dive to be certified, while the other student needed three more dives. One instructor could not teach them at the same time. So, I had to dive one more time to teach the course.
My student had not dived for two months, so I let her repeat essential skills and then contined the remaining skills to finish the course. The student was a little nervous, but she completed all skills and became a certified diver.
What a surprising ending. I never expected so many surprises in the last day. Everything seemed to be plotted. But, it was a nice surprising ending.
